Celebrate Valentine’s Day! Experience the beautiful Spanish melodies and Latin rhythms of Romance de la Guitarra, a magical Valentine’s Concert. Internationally acclaimed guitarist Daniel Salazar will premier new original compositions with his ensemble of international musicians and special guests: Puerto Rican guitarist Lorena Garay, vocalist Sylma Pagan and Carlos Tirado, violinist Carin Wiesner and the Virtuosi Strings.
This special Valentine’s concert will include romantic and inspiring guitar selections, and will feature original music from Daniel Salazar’s highly popular repertoire combining elements of Flamenco, Latin and world rhythms, all with a classic Spanish guitar influence. For this special performance, Daniel will premiere NEW original compositions which will be featured on his upcoming recording to be released later this year.
The concert will also include beautifully crafted arrangements featuring the stunning vocals of soprano Sylma Pagan and Carlos Tirado, as well as the elegant violin of Carin Wiesner. Additionally, Daniel will be performing exciting original arrangements of Latin American selections from Venezuela, Colombia and Puerto Rico featuring authentic instruments such as the Puerto Rican cuatro, the charango and zampoña from Chile, plus an array of Latin percussion.
This popular annual event will include selections featuring Daniel’s special guests: Sylma Pagan, a vocalist with a beautifully expressive voice will sing the love song “Mirage”, baritone Carlos Tirado will interpret “Si Volvieras A Mi”, a moving ballad made famous by the popular singer Josh Groban; acclaimed guitarist Lorena Garay from Puerto Rico will perform a selection of Spanish guitar solos, and virtuoso violinist Carin Wiesner will be joined by the Virtousi Strings playing several of Daniel’s original compositions. The Daniel Salazar Ensemble features an outstanding group of internationally renowned musicians: bassist extraordinaire Genevieve Rose, flamenco-fusion guitarist Daniel Salazar III, Gonzalo Cortes from Chile who specializes in Andean flutes, Esteban Arrufat from Puerto Rico playing Latin Percussion, Roberto Clavijo from Chile playing charango (Latin American string instrument), zampoña (pan flute) and percussion.
Daniel Salazar’s style fuses the traditional Spanish guitar with contemporary and world music sounds as well as classical elegance. Known to Connecticut audiences for his highly popular Guitar Under the Stars concerts, this renowned musician has appeared in many prestigious international venues throughout the U.S., Latin America and Europe.
